In his career Gauge was the top scoring dog in the country 4 times, making him the winner of the prestigious Magnum's Masked Man Award. He is the only dog ever to win the award 4 times.

Eli's dam, One off Champagne Charlie, a superb upland dog, was sired by FC AFC Coos Riglee, the 2007 NE Grouse and Woodcock Champion and 2006 Runner-up National Grouse and Woodcock Championship. Eli won the New England, Tarheel, and Pennsylvania Championships. In 2020 he won the Garmin Shooting Dog of the Year award by a whopping 200 points.
